Pyramid Valley Orange 2019
One of the best examples of its kind in New Zealand, this skin contact white, made from Pinot Gris, Muscat and Gewurztraminer is grown biodynamically in North Canterbury. It has exuberant, exotic aromas, freshness and quenching, orange-rindy grip. The juice has fermentation and a full lunar cycle of contact with the skins. The wine is left unfiltered and unfined.
Right from the get-go Pyramid Valley was set up to achieve outstanding quality with extreme care for its environment in the limestone hills of North Canterbury. Founders Mike and Claudia Elze Weersing quickly established a cult following for their thought provoking wines. Mike sadly died in 2020, and the estate is now in the steady hands of Steve Smith MW (formerly Craggy Range) and Brian Sheth.
