Mac Forbes Yarra Chardonnay 2019

This modern expression of chardonnay has beautifully balanced freshness, with chalky texture and lean, lingering minerality. As Yarra Valley is one of the famed regions for Australian Chardonnay, it's really exciting to see a winemaker like Mac Forbes produce a regional Chardonnay. Mac's high level of understanding regarding Yarra Valley’s subregions clearly translates to outstanding quality and value. The Yarra Chardonnay is a blend of fruit from Healesville, Hoddles Creek, Gladysdale and Woori Yallock vineyards. It is fermented with indigenous yeasts and spends 10 months on old oak. It’s a versatile seafood companion especially with claims, mussels and oysters.

Born and raised in the Yarra, Mac Forbes is a true champion of the region. Mac is known for his experimental style and the great lengths he goes to to shine a spotlight on the sub regions of the Yarra Valley in a way no one has before. He has emerged as part of an energetic and skilled cohort of Yarra Valley winemakers who are changing Australian wine.
