We bloody love a bit of age on our Riesling. In this case, the good people at Pewsey Vale have done the cellaring for us, allowing this taut, dry Riesling from 2015 to build a little weight and a toasty, savoury complexity. With a lengthy, citrus-driven finish, it’s some serious Aussie Rizzle. The Contours vineyard is the coolest slope of this single vineyard estate, and has been certified organic since 2013. 

A vinous pioneer in South Australia’s Eden Valley, Pewsey Vale was planted in 1847. All vines have since been propagated from those original plantings. With extra altitude (at 500 metres above sea level) the Eden Valley sits above the hot Barossa Valley floor, providing a cooler climate and long ripening period that suits Riesling.
