There's a curious depth of flavour here - bright cherry, plum, leather, spice and smoke. It’s characterful, medium bodied and has satiating grippy tannins on the finish. Fruit was sourced from the Naoussa and Amyntaion regions and fermented in amphora with a dash of whole bunches. It was aged for 6 months on fine lees before being bottled unfined and unfiltered with no additions at all. 

Established in 2015 by winemaker Nikos Karatzas, Oenops is an exciting project that has found its home in the historic wine region of Drama, Macedonia in the north of Greece. Drawing from his experience in Bordeaux and as head winemaker at Ktima Pavlidis, Nikos champions a philosophy of minimal intervention in the winery. Oenops' primary goal is to highlight Greece's distinct terroirs, cool climates, old vines and indigenous grape varieties.
