Bodega La Senda Vindemiatrix 2019

$32.00

Not all Spanish reds are big and bold. La Senda from Bierzo in the north west of Spain is true to the region, with its fragrant red fruit profile, lighter body and freshness. There’s seriousness there too, with minerality and fine boned structure. It’s predominantly made from Mencia, a red variety that’s the local superstar, and is co-fermented with white varieties Palomino and Doña Blanca.

Diego Losada is a Bierzo native who started his own project La Senda, having worked for bigger producers in the area. He works with organic, old bush-vine parcels of fruit that are grown at elevation on clay/limestone and slate soils. It’s the epitome of, and often literally ‘off the beaten trail’ in the rolling hills of Castilla y León.
